Select Agent Policy

We know you work hard to find your clients their dream home and we want to make sure you are compensated for your work. Like most builders, M/I Homes compensates based on procuring cause. Therefore, you should be present with your client for their first visit to a M/I community (virtual or in-person) as well as the contract appointment. Should your client reach out to us directly, they must let us know they are working with you. We will make note of that in our records and you will be compensated.

Online Registration Is Easy

We’ve made registration a quick and easy process. Prior to your client’s first visit, simply click on the "Contact" tab from any page on our website and complete the form at the bottom of the page. In the “Questions or Comments” section, tell us that you are a licensed Real Estate agent and the name and contact information of the client you are registering. If your client is registering online or by phone, they need to give us your name and let us know they are working with you as their Realtor. You will still need to accompany your client during their initial and contract appointments.

Accompany Your Buyer

Personally accompanying a new customer to one of our Greater Indianapolis communities on their first visit ensures you as a procuring cause, resulting in the assurance of receiving the published selling office commission that will be paid at closing. If you are unable to attend on the first visit, your client must register you on the registration card and the ownership of this task rest on your client.

To become eligible for the Broker Commission, you must be a licensed real estate agent and (1) 18 years of age or older, (2) employed by or otherwise associated with an active real estate broker licensed to do business within the state your client is purchasing a home, and (3) comply with the Prospect Registration Agreement and other required conditions. Broker will not earn a broker fee if Broker does not (i) register the client with M/I Homes prior to being shown a property and comply with the Prospect Registration Agreement and other required conditions, and (ii) execute the Broker Agreement following the confirmed eligibility of the executed Prospect Registration Agreement, preferably at the time the customer executes a purchase agreement. The registration is effective for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of registration. If a client has made direct contact with Seller, e.g., call, text, email, or online form submission, prior to a Prospect Registration Agreement being entered, Broker will not be entitled to a selling office commission. Commission is paid only if, and when a home purchase closes and fully funds, and all required conditions are met. M/I Homes reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time.
